i-STRONGER Course

This course equips rehabilitation clinicians with the knowledge and practical skills to safely screen patients, develop and deliver high-intensity plans of care, monitor and adapt treatment throughout the stay, communicate effectively across the care team, and advocate for high-intensity rehabilitation.

i-STRONGER Course Objectives​

 

1. Screen all patients for safe participation in high-intensity rehabilitation

​

2. Establish an appropriate high-intensity plan of care for eligible patients

​

3. Execute effective and engaging rehabilitation sessions informed by high-intensity rehabilitation strategies

​

4. Perform ongoing monitoring of patient response to activity and adapt high intensity plans of care throughout the length of stay

​

5. Communicate and document completely and efficiently to facilitate continuity of care

​

6. Identify current gaps in care for older adults that high intensity rehabilitation can address and advocate for its use in the skilled nursing setting​ 

​CEU Requirements vary by state. To receive credit for this course, please visit your state licensing board's website and follow their instructions for submitting an individual CEU application. Clinicians are responsible for applying for CEUs on their own according to their state's requirements. 

Leadership Resources

The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) offers a range of leadership opportunities and training programs designed to help physical therapists and physical therapist assistants grow as leaders in their clinics, communities, and the profession.

The APTA Academy of Leadership and Innovation (ALI) is a professional association within APTA focused on developing forward-thinking leaders and innovators in physical therapy. The academy serves approximately 2,400 engaged members, including physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students who are interested in leadership, innovation, and emerging trends in the profession.

The LAMP program offers structured, multi-level leadership and management training for rehabilitation professionals across settings. It provides both personal leadership development and executive management education, along with continuing education credits and recognized credentials.

The ACAPT Leadership Compass is an online leadership development tool created by the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy (ACAPT) Leadership Academy. It is designed specifically for physical therapy administrators, academic faculty, clinical affiliates, and students to guide structured leadership growth.

The PT Leadership Podcast Series by Richard Leaver is dedicated to informing and educating both emerging and experienced therapy leaders, PT Leadership offers insights and guidance to support effective clinical practice management and overcome the challenges of modern healthcare service delivery

The RM Barney Poole Leadership Academy is a chapter-based leadership development program created by the APTA Georgia Chapter. Established in 2012, it is designed to help physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students build leadership skills for both personal and professional growth.
